Teneo teams up with Run to Refuge on the journey to end modern slavery

During the summer months, people are looking for ways to enjoy the outdoors, especially after lockdowns due to the pandemic. For Tom, the person behind Run to Refuge, he is spending this summer running 1900 miles around the English and Welsh coast. To truly understand this distance, 1900 miles is equivalent to 75 marathons! Tom’s mission which will take approximately 85 days, is much more than just enjoying the great outdoors, but instead he is running for a much greater purpose.

Tom’s Run to Refuge brings awareness and financial support to the TRIBE Freedom Foundation, a charity that raises funds to end human trafficking and modern slavery. TRIBE and Run to Refuge inspire athletes (and even non-athletes) to push their physical limits to not only increase awareness to their cause, but also help to create an impact. The physical events allow the participants to experience some of the challenges our most vulnerable people in society, including refugees and the survivors of modern slavery, might experience.

Teneo decided to take part in Run to Refuge both financially and on foot. Some of our Teneo colleagues have participated by running along side Tom during a few of his days as he works to his 1900 mile marker. Others have decided not to put on their running shoes, but instead financially sponsor colleagues on a virtual team. In addition, Teneo will be making a financial donation per mile for our Teneo virtual Run to Refuge team.
