Piers Carey founded Teneo in March 2000 and currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors as well as Chief Executive Officer. Teneo are an IT Solutions Provider focused on helping large companies connect their users to applications in a way that is secure, optimized and observable. Piers has been responsible for significant revenue growth as Teneo have grown from a single office in the UK to a presence in 4 countries. Piers received a Bachelor of Arts degree with honors from Reading University, UK in Geography and English. He currently lives in Middleburg, VA with his wife of 23 years and their dog. They have two children at the University of Virginia and the University of Florida. Piers enjoys musical theater, hiking and travelling. His passion is education, particularly in sub-Saharan Africa where he helps fund projects towards his goal of improving the lives of a million children around the world.

David has been part of Teneo since 2014. He was initially drawn to the company by its outstanding CSR initiatives and commitment to helping others. Over the years, David has held several roles, including Management Accountant, Finance Manager, and now Chief Financial Officer, benefiting from exceptional support for his professional development along the way. He values the variety that his role brings and is driven by a passion for delivering excellent service, supported by his dedicated team.
Mark Leppard joined Teneo in 2020 and serves as Chief Sales Officer, where he leads the company’s global sales strategy and execution. He brings over two decades of senior leadership experience across IT services, cybersecurity, and healthcare communications. Prior to Teneo, Mark was Senior Sales Director at Open Systems, where he was instrumental in establishing the company’s footprint in the UK market. He also spent 16 years at Ascom as Director of Sales, overseeing the delivery of wireless communication solutions throughout the UK and Ireland. A Fellow and Master of the Institute of Sales Management (MInstSM), Mark is recognized for his commitment to advancing excellence in sales leadership. At Teneo, he advocates for “simplification through innovation,” helping clients streamline IT operations and drive measurable business outcomes. Mark is actively involved in Teneo’s corporate social responsibility initiatives, supporting community-focused projects around the world. He resides in the UK with his wife of 38 years and is a proud father of four.
Brett Ayres joined Teneo in 2013 and has been instrumental in shaping the company’s journey ever since. As Chief Technology Officer, Brett draws on over two decades of experience across both commercial and technical roles. He has played a key role in evolving Teneo’s product portfolio, advancing the company’s SASE and managed services offerings, and helping clients unlock the full potential of digital transformation. Brett leads a talented team dedicated to working closely with customers, introducing cutting-edge technologies, and driving meaningful business outcomes. His passion for innovation ensures that Teneo remains at the forefront of the industry, helping organisations navigate an increasingly complex IT landscape. Brett holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Studies from Plymouth University, UK. When he’s not exploring the latest developments in artificial intelligence – particularly its potential to address some of today’s global challenges – you’ll likely find him on the water sailing, playing badminton, or enjoying stand-up paddleboarding.
Marc Sollars is Field CTO, a board member, and one of the lead evangelists at Teneo. With over 25 years at Teneo, Marc has played a pivotal role in guiding the company’s technical strategy – championing innovation in areas like SASE, SSE, and Network observability. As an evangelist, Marc is passionate about translating complex technologies into clear business value. Whether speaking at industry events, or working directly with clients, he’s a driving force behind Teneo’s mission to deliver ‘Simplification through Innovation’. Outside of the tech world, Marc has been happily married for 27 years and is a proud father of two. He also shares his home with Harley, the family’s energetic cockapoo. A lifelong sailing enthusiast, Marc serves as Commodore of Burghfield Sailing Club, a community he’s been part of for over 40 years. In 2023, Marc visited Madagascar to connect with SEED Madagascar, a charity Teneo proudly supports. The experience was deeply moving, giving him firsthand insight into the positive, lasting impact business-led partnerships can have on remote communities. It’s a cause that reflects both his personal values and Teneo’s broader commitment to improving the lives of 1 million children worldwide.
Prior to moving to the solutions provider side of the house, Steve was a Teneo customer, managing a network of 30,000 users across 60 sites, with a crowning achievement of moving their primary datacenter with no downtime. This technical background as a customer has given Steve the capabilities and perspective needed to develop a strong team of solutions engineers, to ensure Teneo can fully understand the business and technical requirements of our customers and help them be successful deploying innovative technologies
James graduated from the University of Reading with a BA (Hons) degree in European Literature and Philosophy and has spent most of his career in commercial and operational roles in the IT sector. James joined Teneo in 2004 and in his current role runs our ISO certifications and commercial contracts and keeps Teneo compliant with legislation. James is passionate about our Purpose Beyond Profit and manages our initiatives in this area. James has two grown up children and enjoys running, reading, travelling, live music, theatre and the arts. He is an ambassador for one of our strategic charity partners, SEED Madagascar, and volunteers at the Globe Theatre and a local community garden.
Mat Behr joined Teneo in 2016 as a Systems Architect and currently serves as Vice President of Service Delivery. He leads the strategic direction of Teneo’s global IT, professional, managed, and support services. With over 15 years of experience in technical and IT leadership roles, Mat has delivered enterprise-wide digital transformation programs, cloud migrations, and cybersecurity initiatives across diverse industries. At Teneo, Mat has played a pivotal role in reshaping service delivery through process automation, the implementation of IT governance frameworks, and achieving ISO27001 certification. He has also redesigned managed and professional services to improve efficiency, enhance customer satisfaction, and reduce operational costs. His leadership of the service desk ensures high-quality, responsive support that underpins Teneo’s customer-first approach. He lives in the UK, and outside of work, he enjoys rock climbing, mountain biking, escape rooms, and spending time with his family.
Marianne Ronchetti is Vice President of Marketing at Teneo, where she plays a key role in shaping the company’s brand, communications, and demand generation efforts. With over 18 years of experience in marketing, she has held PR and marketing leadership roles across a variety of sectors, including IT, Retail, and Financial Services, spanning both B2B and B2C environments. Her experience also includes in-house, agency, and freelance roles. Marianne holds a BA Hons in Creative Writing from Bath Spa University and is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing. Originally from County Tyrone, Northern Ireland, she now lives in Berkshire, England, with her husband of 13 years and their two young children. Outside of work, she enjoys arts and crafts, cooking, travelling, and spending quality time with her family.
