Arista sets a new standard in software-defined (SD) networking. Their portfolio includes 1/10/40 and 100GbE switches. Founded to boost network performance in large Data Center and high-performance computing environments, Arista first caught our eye when they were recognized by Gartner as a ‘visionary’ in the 2014 Magic Quadrant for Data Center Networking.
We were also intrigued by their alliances with other Teneo next-generation technologies such as Riverbed SteelCentral, Palo Alto Networks and Tintri. We felt that their solution would complement the network architectures our customers are building, as well as offer an interesting price/performance benefit.
Arista’s Extensible Operating System, EOS, is ground-breaking. It’s what allows this technology to be flexible, with single-image consistency across hardware platforms, in-service upgrades and application extensibility. This is to be seriously considered if you’re thinking “software-defined” anything.
