Theale, UK and Dulles, USA – July 29, 2016 – Teneo, the Specialist Integrator of Next-Generation Technology, today announced that it has established an SD-WAN Practice to help its customers to navigate their way through the fast-changing SD-WAN market landscape.
The Teneo SD-WAN Practice, led by Steve Inman, President of Teneo’s Americas operation, will act as an SD-WAN think tank performing industry, customer and technical research, thereby advocating the most relevant solutions for its customers. The Practice will also be responsible for further development of Teneo’s Managed SD-WAN service, which helps customers to maintain non-stop, around the clock performance from their SD-WAN investments.
The SD-WAN market movement first began just over 2 years ago and at the end of 2015, less than 1% of enterprises had deployed SD-WAN technology in their branches. According to Gartner however, that statistic is set to rise dramatically to 30% by the end of 2019. This prediction has resulted in rapid market growth with vendors already crowding the SD-WAN space, made up of a combination of legacy WAN optimisation specialists, newly formed start-up companies and a handful of original pioneers.
With SD-WAN products having reached the peak and SD-WAN services now on the rise in the new Gartner Hype Cycle for Networking and Communications 2016, published on July 27th 2016, SD-WAN technology is still very much emerging. SD-WAN offers customers several benefits compared with traditional, router-based WANs, including cost savings, increased agility and management simplification. Teneo’s SD-WAN Practice aims to fully understand the elements, essence, ramifications, impact, and benefits of SD-WAN in order to best meet the needs of its customers’ environments.
