Teneo, the specialist provider of network management and application performance solutions has completed a web optimisation project that has increased the speed of BMW’s website.
Working alongside BDR, BMW’s hosting and web development partner, Teneo has implemented a solution based around FineGround’s Velocity appliance. The boost in application performance was put in place primarily to ensure maximum business availability and user satisfaction for the over 250,000 visitors browsing and shopping the BMW.co.uk site.
“Our goal was to provide faster accessibility to online information and significantly enhance our users’ online experience,” said Richard Hudson, CRM & E-commerce Manager at BMW. “The FineGround Solution has enabled us to deliver exceptional performance to our customers. By utilizing FineGround, we continue to generate online interest in the new models as well as provide a consistent, real-time customer experience.”
Speed, performance and user satisfaction are key issues Internet retailers need to conquer in order to give users what they want – an online shopping experience that mirrors the quality and service of brick-and-mortar shopping. Delivering real-time information will enhance the BMW brand representation online, promote new model launches and generate increased sales leads to deliver to the dealer network. Teneo’s professional services team worked to configure FineGround’s integrated set of performance optimization techniques, which enable customers to leverage their existing systems and investments, providing a transparent, effective solution to dramatically improve the performance of internal and external web-based applications.
“BMW is focussed on providing high levels of customer service and this includes optimising response time from its web site” commented Piers Carey, CEO of Teneo “Our solution based around FineGround allows organisations to reduce the amount of traffic going over internet links, resulting in reduced bandwidth utilisation and cost and faster delivery of content from websites, intranets and any web application”.
